Ep 048: Betsson scores Boca Jrs front-of-shirt sponsor

Sponsorship deals are increasingly common between football teams and sportsbooks in Latin America, and sports betting regulations in the city and the province of Buenos Aires have paved the way for new agreements between these companies and clubs.

Home of football legends like Maradona, Riquelme and, loath or love him, Carlos Tevez, Boca Juniors this week signed a deal with the global operator Betsson, which will stamp its brand on the front of the team’s jersey.

This is only the most recent agreement signed by an Argentinian team, but teams like River Plate, Velez and Newell’s are also navigating the sportsbook sponsorships world.
